Sam is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago where she majored in political science and advocacy and social change communication. She has been an active volunteer on numerous local and state political campaigns. Through this work she became heavily involved in local Minneapolis school board elections and managed a successful citywide campaign. While in Chicago, Sam worked as a policy researcher in a State Representative’s office and on an Alderman’s communications staff. Throughout her work on campaigns and in government, Sam has been a committed advocate for women and children – particularly in areas of health care and education. Sam grew up in Singapore and Austin, Texas. She currently resides in Downtown Minneapolis with her dog Jam.
